What Makes Our Store Special
We are working on reorganizing the store to make room for new inventory. We will help customers find what they are searching for, or we will be happy to order anything that we can.
Company History
Originated in 1980, becoming Pigtails 'N Inkwells in 1983 and expanding to new larger facilities in 1997.
On May 23, 2008 we took over as the new owners.
About Owners
Jamie Smith & Mindy Miller - Formerly owned another teacher supply store in Elwood, KS called I Teach 2. This store was open for five years, and it was in a one-room schoolhouse. Jamie taught kindergarten, preschool, and library at Rushville Elementary in Rushville, MO, and has given up teaching to devote her full attention to the store. Jamie's mother, Mindy is a partner in the store and also owns a real estate company called A-1 Realty.
Store Policies

Workshops
We provide summer workshops with optional graduate credit hours and do in-store workshops throughout the year. Please call for a list of future workshops.
Directions To Store
From North - Off I-29 at Frederick-West on Frederick to Belt-South on Belt, past Faraon(stoplight). 7 blocks on right side (west) of Belt with Rent all store.
From South - Off I-29 to highway 36 W- take first exit (Belt) off 36. Turn North past 2 stoplights (Mitchell & Messanie St.) Pigtails is 3rd building North of Messanie on West side.
